Star Tours 2.0 Part 2 The Ride

Once inside our luck was still NOT SO MUCH.....We walked right through the parts that you want to see and got stuck in the spots where nothing was going on.....I'm really going to have to revisit the ride many times until I can soak in all the details.......The Starspeeder has a new color...

The Videos in the main room look fun and amazing.....

I've seen the full 15 minute version of the baggage droid online---and it was funny and really enjoyable....Because we got stopped in between the rooms we barely got to see it. I also wanted to have more time to see the cool shadow play as well....Definitely next time

The Pre-boarding videos were very entertaining....With droid jokes as it sets up the story of the ride

Safety instructions were updated but a homage to the original with the backhand smack from the Calmarian

The ride itself was totally fun and enjoyable....I loved the original Star Tours and could take on the Death Star and do the Trench run all day long......But i'm really excited about getting to have multiple different adventures.... We got Vader at the beginning....A thrilling Podrace a message from Yoda which was really cool and then an underwater excursion to Naboo.......It was a totally blast... so much so that I accidently tossed my regular sunglassed into the recyle bin instead of the 3-D ones and then had to search the bin with another Star Wars fan wearing a Han Shot First T-shirt

I will be booking flights with Star Tours in the future

Star Tours 2.0 Part 1 The Adventures of waiting in line Continues --Where was the Hoopla? J une 3rd 2011

I've been looking forward to this day----Since about 1987 when they told us that the Star Tours ride would n have new destinations about every 5 years or so .......(Well that five years took 25 --I guess they forgot to put the 2 in front of it......Now Star Tours has returned with multiple planets on the flight plan....

Star Tours Opening Day

I headed out at a decent time in the morning with the purpose of getting to see the opening ceremonies at Disneyland....I'm a huge Star Wars Fan (I fly that nerd flag proudly which I will demonstrate in a future post)

After watching the live Broadcast from Orlando I was hoping to be a part of this historic day.....Just like being there on the 50th anniversary to Arnold the impregnator and all the hoopla involved in that. Heading into the park were some familiar faces

We were there for the 9am Rope drop......And like the start of a 5 K Run with people heading off in different directions in a mass of human chaos we worked our way over toward Tomorrowland asking advice on how to get to the ceremony which turned out not to work so well......We headed into the crush of Tomorrowland and were herded into the Star Tours line after being told there was NO Way to get to see actual ceremony.

UNLUCKY! ---I guess you had to know someone...So all we could see while leaning down and looking through Jules Vernes Rocks and Plants from the Future was these glimpes of a few stormtroopers on the old Peoplemover tracks (with Yellow cords attached to their backs----(Probably some OSHA safety issue)

So In line we waited with tons of others in Star Wars shirts....In a line that wouldn't move for at least an 1 and minutes.....Our moment of hesitation in trying to get to the ceremony probably cost us a good 500 people extra in front of us in line.......
