The Jungle Book: Sneak Peek in Disney's California Adventure

Another great Movie Sneak Peek is currently happening at DCA.
This time you can enjoy a sneak peek of the upcoming live action version of the classic Disney Animated movie  The Jungle Book.

Once again after watching this sneak peek in 4-D, I wish I could see the whole movie in the Bug's Life Theater.

The Jungle Book sneak peek focuses on when Mowgli meets Baloo.  It has a hilarious scene where Baloo tricks Mowgli to climb a cliff in order to knock down a bee hive so he can get some honey.  With the in theater effects this of course involves bee stings in the back of your chair.   The sneak also features several great water effects when Mowgli and Baloo are floating down the river together singing the iconic song from the film.

The sneak peek then goes into a long version of a trailer which looks visually stunning.  The movie looks like it will be a treat for anyone who loved the original animated film.  I can't wait for this movie to be in theaters.    Definitely check out the 4-D sneak peek if you are in the parks....it is totally worth it.

Zootopia Sneak Peek in Disney's California Adventure

It is time for yet another in park  Movie Sneak Peek.
This time around it is for Disney's upcoming animated movie Zootopia.    When Zootopia was first announced I wasn't exactly dying to see it.  The very first teaser ad just looked like another Madagascar clone.   Then they came out with a fun trailer with the classic Sloth at the DMV scene.  If you haven't seen that --check out the trailer.

The 4-D sneak Peek has completely changed my mind about the film as a throw away animated feature.  The movie starts out showing the Rabbit character  Hops training to be a cop in the big city and then features a long segment showing her first trip into the city.  All I could think about while watching this segment was that this movie actually had some great world building elements.  The concept of the city of Zootopia looks amazing. All of the different sections of the city looked amazing.  The scenes just showing all the people walking around reminded me of the glimpses we got of Monstropolis in Monsters Inc.  This film now is a must see for me and the kids and I could totally see this as a TV show as well.

If you are in the parks definitely check this out.  It is showing in the Bug's Life Theater.  When entering the show they have been handing out cool like promo cardboard rabbit or fox ears.

And check out the film in the theaters on March 4th

The Good Dinosaur: A Sneak Peek at the Disneyland Resort

The latest Disney Parks Movie Sneak Peek is The Good Dinosaur currently in the Bug’s Life Theater.

I’m a huge fan of these movie sneak peeks that use the 4-D in theater effects to enhance the movie experience.   The Good Dinosaur sneak wasn’t presented in 3-D –but did effectively include the theater effects such as in theater lighting,  water effects and an incredible scene which included the seat effects.

Here is a cool picture of some of the characters outside the theater.

This movie wasn’t really on my radar to see in the theaters—but as usual they may have changed after seeing this cool sneak peek.
I was surprised at the cool visuals in the film,  since I hadn’t seen anything that cool from the film’s first trailer.  It looks great and the 2 main characters are adorable and the sneak peek into the movies story makes it look like a lot of fun.  The story is basically a what if the asteroid hadn't killed all the Dinosaurs and follows a boy named Spot and a Dinosaur named Arlo.

Could this be Pixar’s First Flop?

Despite how good the sneak peek was this film had issues during production and was reworked by Pixar that didn’t feel it was good enough at first…..I think Pixar has solved whatever initial issues the film had because it looks like another great Pixar film now.   Pixar basically has the best movie batting average ever… They don’t seem to make bad movies---so I’m sure it will be great.   My only concern is for the box office future of the flick –between the Ice Age films and Land Before Time and Disney’s own Dinosaur.  It just seems like this ground has been stomped on too many times before.  The one thing this film lacks that the other Pixar films has is an original story.   As a result this particular film may get lost in the shuffle.    (Of course I've been wrong before)
