Ultimate Epcot: If money was no object --What would you add to Epcot: Part 7 Wonders of Life (Inside Out)

The Wonders of Life Pavilion has just been sitting there for quite awhile now. I'm not sure of what remains inside the Pavilion as I believe it has only been used in recent years for things like Food and Wine and stuff like that.

This Pavilion used to house Body Wars -A Star Wars style ride that took you into the human body--and made people want to upchuck their lunch. It also included Cranium Command--which was clearly an inspiration for the recent Pixar movie Inside Out.

(BELLS GO OFF IN HEAD)
Immediately the thought came to me as well as thousands of others that recall the attraction was that a clear opportunity to make use of the old ride has presented itself.
In Ultimate Epcot we have been talking about what you would add to each section of World Showcase “If money was no object”.   So let's turn our attention to the Wonders of Life Pavilion
( seen below in this old Picture from Pinterest.)

    (Photo from Pinterest)

The realistic thing would be for Disney to just retool the old Cranium Command attraction which basically took you inside a youth's brain and had celebrity voices portraying the different parts of the body as the youth made his way through a day at school.    Ultimate Epcot: We look at the big picture:  "If money was no object" The celebrity voices wouldbe replaced of course by the characters from the movie Inside Out.  This would be a great little attraction.   The same concept --Just updated with this cool new characters.
.

But of course thinking bigger  "If Money was no Object"  they could do so much more with the Inside Out concept.  Think of an entire Inside Out pavilion with interactive exhibits about the entire human body.  An Innoventions style building with stuff like a kids roller coaster like the transporation vehicle in the film.   How fun would little kids have with giant memory walls where the lights change colors when they touch them,

I know ball pits have gone the way of the Dodo --but a Memory Ball pool or interactive game where the kids have to retrieve memory balls would be fun.

Character Meet and Greets or alittle show featuring Bing Bong.   There are so many possibilities with the world of Inside Out.   I can't wait to check out the new Inside Out short film Riley's first date...which will come out with the DVD.

Pixar really knocked it out of the park concept wise with this film and it lends itself to a Wonders of Life Pavilion Reboot.

Ultimate Epcot: If money was no object --What would you add to Epcot: Part 6 Germany

When the Germany Pavilion in Epcot was first built it was supposed to house a river boat ride –that from the description sounds like an indoor version of Storybookland in Disneyland.  Instead of featuring miniature houses from Disney films it would be like a tour of Germany.   The building for the attraction exists –but the ride itself was never built.
In Ultimate Epcot we have been talking about what you would add to each section of World Showcase “If money was no object”.  Many of the countries it was easy to come up with ideas for as there were obvious Disney connections to those lands.
The Disney Germany connection is mainly Snow White.   The Seven Dwarf's Mine Train would have been a perfect addition to Germany—but that went in at the Magic Kingdom instead –so to do something Snow White related would be redundant.
So what does that leave us to work with???
Out of the Box idea: Bringing Germany to World Showcase:
My first thought was very non-Disney –but very Germany.   A Brewery Tour

There are over 1,300 Breweries currently in Germany.   If Disney were to cut a long term deal with one of those Breweries they could build a working Brewery building with an Omnimover ride system that could take you on a tour through the Brewing process.    I remember as a kid going to Busch Gardens in Los Angeles.   I remember it had an old log ride through an Aviary (bad idea) and it also had a little boat ride as well.   But I remember the slow moving ride that took you through the brewery.   Of course the mistake they made was having free beer samples.
(You can check out a video of  the old Busch Gardens in Los Angeles here which shows the ride that would take you through the brewery)

A Club Cool with beer  in Epcot –as fun as that would be --would be a disaster, but a Brewery tour would be cool.

Inside the Box Idea:
The story of Rapunzel also has German roots.  If Norway is getting a Frozen ride –why not give  Germany a Tangled ride based on my second favorite Flynn

Join Flynn Rider as he tries to escape the law in a wild ride with the feel of the Tangled Ever After short cartoon.   can’t  pinpoint what the right ride vehicle would be for this attraction,    maybe a trackless ride system like Toy Story Mania?  The vehicles could be designed as mine carts from that scene in the movie.  The ride itself would be a fun out of control Mr Toad like ride through Flynn’s world.   Starting in the mines it could then go off track as your mine car spins and takes you through a forest scene and then crashing through a large Snuggly Duckling Tavern Scene at the end.

I’d like to hear your ideas ---for “If Money was no object”  what you would add to Germany?

Ultimate Epcot: If money was no object --What would you add to Epcot: Part 5 Japan

What would I change at Epcot if money was no object?
I thought this would be a fun little interactive new weekly blog where I will post my thoughts and then ask what you would like to see" If money was no object"  Think big....Like Carsland or Harry Potter big.  Some of my ideas you may love --others you may absolutely hate.   Feel free to chime in with ideas of your own.

Japan was a harder land to come up with something.  I've read online that at one point a Mt Fuji Matterhorn style ride was thought to be a good fit for Japan.  While thinking about how you could plus this already complete country I decided to go a little outside of the box on this one.  Digging into the Disney archives there really isn't a lot of stuff that could tie into the Japan Pavilion.   Japan has its own Disneyland park and Disney Sea---but nothing from those parks really screams "This is Japan".   You could do something with Big Hero 6 --but that actually takes place in a fictional mixed town of San Francisco and Toyko called San FranToyko.   So even though you could make a great Big Hero ride --it just didn't feel like the right fit.  Then a thought hit me while my daughter was watching Cars 2 in the living room.  Something that would be a great fun fit and would bring a major attraction that could give you a tour of Japan of parts of Japan.

I'm talking about bringing an interactive  Radiator Springs Racers style ride to Epcot with a Japanese twist.

Cars 2 is basically a spy flick starring Mater with the background story of Lightning McQueen racing around the world.  One of the best race sequences involved a race through Tokyo.  So I was thinking about how everyone loves Carsland and Radiator Springs so much .   How cool would it be to bring the ride in a different way to Japan.

How cool would it be to bring the ride an indoor Tokyo Racing ride--you could do an amazing inside Cars themed drifting ride that plays on what they did with the dark ride portion of Radiator Springs .  Imagine racing through the streets of Tokyo at night in a Cars style ride vehicle with a drifting element.

This ride would be a blast and would bring some excitement to the Japan pavilion.

Ultimate Epcot: If money was no object --What would you add to Epcot: Part 4 Morocco

In part 3 we explore what could be added to Morocco.  My thoughts are obvious for Morocco.  Aladdin and Jasmine are already visiting from Agrabah --why not bring the rest of Agrabah to Morocco.  You could enter this make believe city via a magic portal courtesy of the Genie.  Think something like the entrance to Diagon Alley at Universal.

Once you enter Agrabah the palace would be looming in the background past the streets of the town.

Inside that palace could be the hit Aladdin Stage Show that is currently at DCA.  The show is great and features all the music from the classic film.   The main reason this show stays so popular is the Genie.   He is top notch and constantly comes up with fresh and new jokes which makes this attraction worth repeating again and again.

Another attraction would be a Peter Pan style dark ride featuring the magic carpet.   Which would take you through scenes from the movie on a magic carpet ride with the song playing along your ride.

And there could be a Caves of Wonder play area that would be like the caverns on Tom Sawyer's Island with Treasure room and interactive things for the kids to do and a Genie Meet and Greet.

Ultimate Epcot: If money was no object --What would you add to Epcot: Part 3 France

In part 1 we covered Canada ...in Part 2 my over the top plans for England.  Now it is time to talk about what we could add to France The first easy and obvious ride would be the Ratatouille ride that is actually in the French theme park outside of Paris.

The ride itself takes guests aboard ratmobiles (at rat size) through Gusteau's restaurant.  I've never been on the ride myself -(since I haven't been to France) --but it looks and sound like a lot of fun.  It looks action packed as the guests scurry about the restaurant using a combination of video screens and live props.     Below is a you tube ride through video showing what the ride looks like.

This ride is a perfect fit for France at Epcot --with its theming a perfect match for what is already there.

And if money is no object --why not bring an actual Las Vegas sized  Eiffel Tower to Epcot.   I can't think of a better addition to the French Pavilion.  In Vegas you have a view of the Bellagio and its fountain show,    Image dining in a Restaurant a quarter of the way up like in Vegas with a view of all of World Showcase.

And at night instead of Illuminations ---image watching a new Epcot World of Color out on the lake.  This restaurant would be booked a year in advance it would be so popular. A true Eiffel Tower would be one the the main attractions of World Showcase.

Ultimate Epcot: If money was no object --What would you add to Epcot: Part 2 England

What would I change at Epcot if money was no object?

I thought this would be a fun little interactive new weekly blog where I will post my thoughts and then ask what you would like to see  "If money was no object"  Think big....Like Carsland or Harry Potter big.  Some of my ideas you may love----others you may absolutely hate.....  Feel free to chime in with ideas of your own and each weeks topic.

In part 1 we attacked Canada..  Now it is time to talk about what we could add to England.

The first obvious choice that everyone mentions is a Mary Poppins dark ride.   My personal take on this idea is probably just not practical from a ride efficiency or ride safety point of view --but it would make a great and interesting ride.

Think of a dark ride that takes you through all the cool scenes in the movie Mary Poppins --where the ride vehicles are carousel horses that bounce up and down along a track taking you along side by side tracks through the scenes.

You would go through scenes like the tea party on the ceiling.

The Iconic Step in Time Dancing on the Rooftops scene.

The Penguin Waiters

And then the carousel horses on the two tracks would go through a race sequence through an animated forest that would end on the race track.

I know ....Despite the expense the ride vehicles would be impractical and safety would be a concern --unless a new type of safety restraint for the horses could be designed.   But wouldn't it be fun to have a slow moving carousel ride that then had a faster race like sequence.  It would be a dark ride variation of the old steeplechase rides for early theme parks.

Another England attraction could be a children's dark ride that takes you through the world of 101 Dalmatians.  A Mr. Toad's like car ride where you are driving through the English countryside and the streets of London trying to get away from Cruella and her henchmen.

The last big "if money was no object"  attraction would be a Alice in Wonderland area.   And not just a duplicate of the area at Disneyland with its children's dark ride and the teacups.

It would be a large E-Ticket attraction themed to the live action Alice which made over a billion dollars worldwide.  The entrance would be a giant Labyrinth  hedge Maze .  The main attraction which would be a Spiderma/ Harry Potter type ride through the Mad Mad world of Alice in Wonderland.

(Photo from a blog I did on Miceage from the Touring exhibit at Comic Con before the film came out)

Just imagine a wild out of control ride through the crazy  version of Alice's world Tim Burton created on film.  A sequel is already in the works so this would be a perfect addition to this area.

(Photo from a blog I did on Miceage --from the Touring exhibit at Comic Con before the film came out)

What do you think?

What would you put in England to plus or add to it "If money was no object"?
