I often she people asking online how is Disneyland on the 4th of July? Ask Sam the Eagle from the Muppets and I'm sure he would say "There is nothing more American than Fireworks at Disneyland on the 4th of July"
Ask the same question to me and I would qoute Short Round from Indiana Jones.
"He no Nuts…He’s Crazy”
Disneyland has super cool fireworks on the 4th of July --but if you are wanting a good day to actually go on rides an attractions I would avoid the 4th.
I've worked at Disneyland on the 4th of July and New Year's Eve before. I've gone to the park on both of those days as a guest and it is Super crowded. If you are just thinking that it would be a good idea to go to the park on the 4th of July I’d suggest getting your head examined. Sure the Fireworks are probably the best on the West Coast –but the crowds can be overwhelming. There is a reason all the annual passes with the exception of the Premium pass are blocked out this weekend. Because the lure of Fireworks draw in an excessive amount of people. Disneyland has great fireworks everyday during the Summer and I’d suggest going out any other day than the 4th unless you want to be shuffling around like Sardines on Main Street after they are over especially with the 60th Anniversary in full effect with a brand new Electrical parade. Disneyland will be madhouse on the 4th and like New Year’s Eve I will be avoiding the parks for this weekend. The lines for everything will be as big as they were on the 24 hr celebration. So skip Disneyland on the 4th and check their fireworks on some other night.
A possible option: You could go to Downtown Disney and catch a movie around 6:30 pm and watch the fireworks from the section between the two theme parks if you really want to see the fireworks. The 4th of July is a great movie weekend and Jurassic World and Inside Out should both be playing at Downtown Disney.
Remember what Short Round said and apply that to Disneyland on the 4th of July
